Jenny Wilson - Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Jenny has worked in the agricultural sector for a number of years with the Victorian State Government. Most recently she has worked with the Department of Economic Development Jobs, Transport and    Resources (formally known as DEPI) as Program Manager of Dairy and Irrigation Services in the Hume region.

Jenny has a passion for agriculture in the region, combined with a desire to achieve quality outcomes for the dairy industry.

Jenny graduated from Charles Sturt University where she completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science, holds an Advanced Certificate in Sustainability along with a Diploma of Project Management and Diploma of Applied Science (Laboratory Management).

Jenny is really looking forward to working closely with dairy farmers and to continue to build productive relationships across the industry.
                

  Lisa Birrell - Regional Extension Officer

Lisa was most recently employed as an Area Manager for Fonterra Australia based at Stanhope.  Within this role she worked with farmers in Kerang to Swanpool and also some in the Southern Riverina and Wagga Wagga.

Lisa has a Bachelor in Agriculutral Science and a Certifdicate IV in Training and Assessment.

Lisa's many skills include cow nutrition and pasture management.  She has also delivered a number of courses over the years from InCalf, Tranisiton Cow Management and Cool Cows.
          
           
 

Ross Read - Regional Extension Officer

Ross previously served as a Committee Member on the Central Goulburn Water Services along with being one of Murray Dairy's first Focus Farms.

Ross brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role as Extension Coordinator after operating his own dairy business for 25 years as well as most recently working for hay and grain company, Feed Central Pty Ltd . as a Supply Manager.

He has experience in the area as both a farmer and service provider and has developed and maintained  relationships with many of Murray Dairy's key stakeholder's

Ross has an Advanced Diploma of Agriculture - Dairy and an Advanced Diploma of Agribusiness Management.  He has also participated in the Developing Dairy Leaders Program run by Dairy Australia and Australian Dairy Federation.

Sarah Thompson - Regional Extension Officer

Sarah's most recent employment has been with the Greater Shepparton City Council working within the Active Living Department in Administration and Project Support on various Health and Wellbeing programs.

Sarah studied at Deakin University where she completed a Bachelor of Business Management with a double major in Marketing and Human Resource Management.

She brings to the role an enthusiasm and passion for people that aims to assist workforce development in the dairy industry and ensuring there is efficient and effective communication to all of Murray Dairy's stakeholders.

                  

  Lisa Menhenett - Regional Extension Officer
 
Lisa recently joined Murray Dairy having spent the past 4 years working with the Bega Cheese field team as an Environment and Sustainability officer. She has experience in the natural resource management area and has been involved in developing and delivering a range of extension programs.

 Lachlan Barnes - Regional Extension Officer

Lachlan joined Murray Dairy in June 2016 after ten years with Agriculture Victoria (and it’s predecessors). He has held several roles including Irrigation and Dairy Program Manager Northern Region, Biosecurity Area Leader Northern region as well as the role of Site Leader for Tatura DEDJTR site.

Amy Fay - Project Manager - Accelerating Change

Amy is currently Project Manager for the Accelerating Change Project of Murray Dairy. Amy grew up on the family farm in Western Victoria where she experienced the ups and downs of the cropping industry through various seasonal conditions, and took this understanding exploring a wide degree of studies in Agricultural Science at Melb Uni, Deakin, UNE and Charles Sturt.

Before moving to Northern Victoria Amy worked in project management and policy development for Dairy Australia, The Federal Department of Agriculture and the GRDC . Her enthusiasm for advancement in agriculture is shown through her positions as Chair of VFF Young Agribusiness Professionals and Chair of the NFF Innovation Committee.

Harriet Bowden - Project Officer - Accelerating Change

Harriet was most recently employed as a Supervisor in the Federal Government's Green Army conservation program.  She directed ecosystem rehabilitation project, pest and weed control and flora and fauna surveys across the Mornington Peninsula.

Harriet has a Bachelor of Communication from The University of Melbourne and a Master of Sustainability from the University of New England.  As part of this degree, Harriet completed a research project with NRM staff in the Victorian and Tasmanian dairy industries comparing systems and strategies for effluent management.      
                

  Melva Tyson - Engagement & Communications Officer

Melva joined Murray Dairy in June 2015. She has professional qualifications in both Chemistry and Training and offers extensive and diverse experience in the communications, education, agricultural, water, laboratory science, industry training and media sectors. 

In her role at Murray Dairy, Melva formulates and delivers communications and engagement initiatives aimed at key dairy industry stakeholders across the Murray Dairy Region.

By joining Murray Dairy, Melva has a sense of arriving home, having grown up on a farm in NW Victoria, before study took her to the big smoke. Melva spent time living and working in Queensland and the UK before arriving back in Victoria.

Melva is a past Board member of Women’s Health - Goulburn North East. She is a current Tatura Primary School Council member and Tatura Amateur Basketball Association committee member

Melva and her husband Alan live and are raising three wonderful boys, 6 chooks and a Labrador, in Tatura, Victoria
 
 

Megan Bicknell - Project Administrator Officer
            

Megan joined the Murray Dairy team in January 2015 as Project Administration Officer.  Megan has worked professionally in the financial and legal administration field for over 20 years.  Megan brings a wealth of administrative experience to the team enabling the organization to achieve its goals.. Having grown up in the area Megan enjoys supporting and learning more about the dairy industry in the region.

Liz Byrne - Project Administrator Officer
            
 
Liz commenced work with Murray Dairy as a Project Administrator Officer in July 2015.  In her role with Murray Dairy she assists with the organization of events, manages the website and data, and provides general administration support to the Murray Dairy Staff.

Liz has worked in the dairy industry for many years in a number of key roles including, pasture and animal research with Agriculture Victoria, milk quality control with Tatura Milk Industries and running a dairy farm with her husband for 15 years.  Liz enjoys working with and helping people in the community.  She had held a number of voluntary service positions with the local Kyabram community where she is still actively involved in the Kyabram Football Netball Club - Netball department
