Sowing Options for Autumn

The Regional Extension and Education Committee organised information sessions to help farmers understand more about cereal crops and other forage crops (such as brassicas and herbs) and whether they are an option for sowing this autumn.

The sessions included:

  • A brief update on grain, hay and water;
  • Looking at different risks involved with different farm systems;
  • How to more confidently choose the cereal species and variety to suit your needs;
  • Information on some alternative forage species and how they could fit into your farm system.
