Affordable Land

Unlike many other dairy regions in Australia, there is limited non-agricultural demand on land resources. There isn’t significant urban pressure or tax effective investment schemes such as tree plantations driving the value of land beyond its agricultural value. Dairy is very competitive in its ability to secure the land resource that is required, enabling it to provide a good return on investment.

There is also the ability to buy large holdings that allow for bigger farms to be established, achieving economies of scale with the potential for increased profitability.
